Jean has twenty years of experience conducting public policy research and building capacity for non-profit organizations engaged in social welfare activities, and grassroots advocacy efforts. Prior to joining NAMI, Jean served as Senior Associate, Service Delivery for the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces where she supported the provision of services to military members, their families and veterans – worldwide. Jean is a Persian Gulf War Veteran, and deployed to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. She received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force after serving eight years as a Mental Health Clinic Manager and Technician providing psychological services to military members and their families.
Formerly, Jean served as Manager for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Military and Veterans Policy department – coordinating and implementing NAMI’s policy, advocacy and technical assistance efforts in the area of military and veterans’ mental health.
